A chapel built for weather
The chapel is covered and faces the mountains. The venue says it has retractable windows, radiant heaters and a built-in arbor, so the weather plan is part of the room. The reception hall is a separate room, described as bright and modern, and as fitting about 200 seated guests with space for dancing and a band or DJ.
The venue also describes full-day exclusive access, an in-house planning team and two private getting-ready suites, so the day moves in order with few other people on site.
Sound and hosting, and the vendor question
The most useful fact here is the vendor structure. Event Management and Venue + Planning couples can bring their own vendors, which means I can be your DJ and host. All-Inclusive weddings use the venue's curated team, which includes DJ entertainment. If you want me, choose the first two, or ask the venue in writing whether your package allows an outside host.
With windows that retract, the chapel can be an open-air room or a closed one, so I check the sound both ways. Retracted windows mean less reflected sound and more wind noise, and closed windows mean the opposite. In the hall, I aim speakers into the room and keep the dance floor within reach of the DJ table.
Lighting, power and effects
The hall is described as bright and modern, so I use warm white and spotlights to give it an evening mood. A lit chapel arbor, warm wash on the aisle and a spotlight for the entrance and first dance are my starting point.
Low fog needs its own dedicated 30 amp circuit because it draws up to 3,000 watts for about five minutes at warm-up, while lights and sound run on ordinary 20 amp circuits. Chestnut Ridge does not publish its circuit layout or a rule on fog, cold sparks or a music cutoff in the pages I could read, so I ask for a walk-through, a power plan and written approval.

Planning notes for couples
The venue lists a Micro-Weddings package for smaller groups and hosts up to about 200 guests. The venue says it offers a décor boutique, professional bartenders and a planning team that manages vendors and timelines.
The venue is about fifteen miles from Asheville, so it works for a ceremony and reception on one property. The street address varies between listings, so confirm it with the venue before sharing directions with guests.
