The property and its six spaces
The Lumen House's own website names six spaces: a Reception Hall with glass walls, chandeliers and a built-in bar; a Greenhouse with floor-to-ceiling windows, a curved back wall and over 40 hanging points; a covered Veranda; the Gardens, with old oaks, a ceremony altar and an outdoor fireplace; and two courtyards. Couples have the whole property from 10 AM to 11 PM.
Dezeen's write-up of the architecture describes two gabled buildings joined by a veranda, with concrete floors, white or black walls and large panes of glass. That is a handsome set of surfaces, and a hard one for sound and light, which shapes everything below.
Sound and hosting in the hall and gardens
I hosted a wedding here in May 2026, ran the sound and DJ, tested the lights and low fog before guests arrived, and we finished with cold sparklers for the grand exit.
Glass and concrete bounce sound, so in the hall I keep speakers low and aimed at the dance floor and tables, not across the windows. For a ceremony at the garden altar I run a small separate setup with a microphone for the officiant, so the hall system stays quiet until cocktail hour. Since the property is yours alone, I plan the walk from garden to veranda to hall with you and the venue team. The website publishes no music cutoff, so I confirm that time when we build the timeline.
Lighting, power and effects
Glass walls turn into black mirrors after dark, so I place lights where they will not show up as double fixtures in the windows. Warm white washes bring out the chandeliers instead of fighting them. I would ask which of the Greenhouse's 40-plus hanging points can carry fixtures, and what weight they are rated for.
The low-fog machine draws up to 3,000 W during its roughly five minute warm-up, so it needs its own dedicated 30 A circuit, apart from lights and sound. I send a power plan listing circuits and locations. Cold sparks have no flame but still need permission, and the venue publishes no sparkler or fog rule, so I get the answer from the venue in writing.

Planning notes for couples
The venue lists two private dressing rooms, a one-hour rehearsal the week of the wedding and a catering prep kitchen. Couples choose a planner and caterer from the venue's curated list, and other vendors are welcome. The two cabins are within walking distance. The site states no rain plan, so ask early where the ceremony moves if the garden is wet. Site visits are by appointment.
