The property and its spaces
The owners' family has lived on this farm for 16 years. After two of their daughters married there in 2021, friends suggested making it a venue, and they built a retaining wall around the pond and cleared space for the reception building.
Couples choose between the Lakeside Dock and the Overlook Chapel for the ceremony, then move to the indoor reception space. The pond has a lit fountain and a bridge over a water garden, which makes a natural spot for portraits. The venue also lists a bridal suite with a private restroom and a groom's suite, so the wedding party has a quiet place to get ready.
Sound and hosting at Piney Grove Ranch
I hosted a wedding here in August 2026, in English and Russian, and ran the sound.
A pond ceremony needs speakers aimed at the chairs and a mic for the officiant that handles wind. If you choose the Lakeside Dock, the venue uses a golf cart to move guests who need it. I time my announcements so the move to the reception is smooth.
The venue limits the day to 8 AM through 11 PM, and it requires its own list of coordinators and bartenders. I work with the coordinator on a timeline that hits toasts and dances comfortably before the end.
Lighting, power and effects
Inside, I use warm white wash and a few beam lights over the dance floor, and keep the room soft for dinner. Outside, the fountain and string lights do much of the work, so I add light only where it helps faces and the aisle.
Lights and sound run on regular 20 amp circuits. Low fog needs its own dedicated 30 amp circuit, so I ask where the panel is. The venue includes a standby generator for outages. Piney Grove allows candles only when floating or in an approved container, and I did not find a published fog or sparkler rule, so I confirm with the venue and get approval in writing.
Planning notes for couples
The venue requires a one-day liability policy and, if alcohol is served, an off-duty police officer. It allows beer, wine, champagne and two signature drinks.
The farmhouse can host your wedding party overnight. Book it through the venue after you sign. If your guests are coming from out of town, that is the easiest way to keep the family together the night before and the morning after, and I can help you plan the timeline around that.
