The property and its spaces
The Estate sits on a hill under tall oaks. The house has ten rooms, crystal chandeliers, pine floors, two-story columns, a Juliet balcony and a wraparound porch.
The Bootlegger Barn was a horse stable in the 1800s and is now an open-concept space with charred whiskey barrels as decor. Taylor Garden is a clearing with shade from old oaks and azaleas leading to it. The venue lists 250 or more guests there, which makes it the largest of the three.
Because the property is spread across a hill, a barn and a garden, guests do a lot of walking. I plan announcements and cues so the move from one space to the next feels organized, not lost.
Sound and hosting at Rocky River
I hosted a wedding here in October 2026 and ran the sound.
A garden ceremony needs speakers aimed at the seats and a wireless mic that survives wind and oak branches. A barn reception needs the opposite: control, because wood and an open plan can turn a loud room into a tiring one. I set the speakers to cover the dance floor and keep the dinner areas conversational.
Rocky River requires a day-of coordinator for weddings. I work with that person on the timeline so the move from garden to barn, the entrance and the toasts all happen on cue.
Lighting, power and effects
The barn is the natural place for dancing. I use warm white wash and a few beam lights, and I keep the whiskey barrels and the old structure visible. In Taylor Garden I light the oaks from below with warm white and keep the guests' faces soft.
Low fog needs a dedicated 30 amp circuit, and lights and sound run on regular 20 amp circuits, so I ask early where the barn and garden power comes from. The venue's decoration rules ban unprotected candles, glitter and confetti. It does not publish a fog or sparkler rule that I found, so I confirm with the venue and get approval in writing.

Planning notes for couples
Tours run Monday to Friday, and the venue offers a virtual tour on its site. If you tour, bring your guest count and a rough timeline, and ask the team which spaces they would use for each part of the day. The Estate, the barn and the garden can be mixed, so decide early which one is your ceremony and which is your party.
Send me your layout and I will send the venue a power plan listing the circuits I need.
